The exciting news is that Bevan Ward, now on show to staff and with invitations in the local press for members of the public to see it too. This pilot ward has 24 beds, in three wings each colour coded, green, blue and lilac. Each wing with eight rooms of different design to the other two. The purpose of this pilot is to research the benefits for patients of having single bedrooms with en-suite facilities. Research will compare current and pilot ward facilities, to find out what effects the new facilities have on patient outcomes. This video tour we hope will give you a good idea of what you can expect. Internal fitting-out is still in progress so excuse any extraneous noise, when complete it will provide a quiet and peaceful experience.

This ward provides an excellent environment for patients and their families. It is clean, dignified and has a feeling of openess and transparency with regards to the staff working on the ward and the way the resources are set out. The environment makes a big difference to the experience of the patient and the family, however it is the staff that make the biggest diffrence. Thank you nurse Rose you were amazing. Overall an excellent facility. Every patient deserves to be treated with the dignity that this type of environment is able to provide.
