The new Chemotherapy Suite at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre is nearly completed. At a cost of about£1.5 million It is hoped to see the first patients in March 2010. Most of the funding was by donation and grants, see Professor Gordon Rustin's video on this site. About 1500 patients a year from Hillingdon and the surrounding boroughs will benefit from this 'state of the art facility' More donation are still required as it will cost in the region of £300,000 a year to operate.
Watch this space for the opening ceremony.

Dr. Paul Nathan, MB.BS. B.Sc.(Hons) BA. PhD.  FRCP  is a consultant medical oncologist at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre. His medical training was in Cambridge and London. He also has a significant background in cancer research and has worked in laboratories in the USA and UK. 

He has a specialist interest in the treatment of renal cell carcinoma (kidney cancer) and melanoma. He is first author of the UK guidelines for the systemic treatment of renal cell carcinoma, is a member of the National Cancer Research Institute groups for both renal carcinoma and melanoma and is secretary of the UK Melanoma Study Group. He also is a member of the panel currently reviewing the national melanoma guidelines.

 He is lead investigator on many clinical trials and has an active research program. His major interests are in the use of targeted therapies to treat advanced renal carcinoma, the development of imaging biomarkers in the management of this disease, and in the development of selective treatments for genetically defined subtypes of melanoma. He has published many papers and contributed to a number of textbooks.

Hema Ganesh works at Mount Vernon Hospital as a physiological measurement technician 1.  She has been working in this field for seven years.  Electromyography, (EMG), is located opposite Bioengineering on the first floor of the main building at MVH.  The clinic operates two days a week. 
The EMG department at Mount Vernon Hospital gives a service to people who have muscle/nerve injuries. Access to this service is through the GP. At hospital the patient will be seen by an orthopaedic consultant, the consultant will send patients to the EMG clinic for a test. The test result is sent back to the orthopaedic consultant for   consideration.

Dr. Roni Saha, is a Senior Registrar in Diabetes, Endocrinology and Medicine at Hillingdon Hospital NHS Trust. He works between the Hospital and the Primary Care Trust and is one of forty 'Darzi Fellows' working in the London area. His work between the hospital and the PCT involves several projects towards clinical improvements, safety campaigns and projects to help develop and improve services towards diabetes for patients.

PALS are a patient friendly, easy to access, confidential service that is available from 9.00 am - 5.00 pm. Monday to Friday.

PALS aim to offer speedy resolution of problems, provide information about local health services and support groups and answer your questions relevant to the hospital and the service it provides.
